Ticketed travelers, people helping travelers, or air terminal representatives will be permitted inside O'Hare or Midway International Airports.
The Chicago Department of Aviation said this is all in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic and is a push to guard everybody.
The Aviation Department and Chicago Police will create a nightly checkpoint at every air terminal's Chicago Transit Authority stop – the Blue Line terminal for O'Hare and the Orange Line terminal for Midway International Airport.
Voyagers will be required to show verification they are flying that day, for example, a ticket – while workers must show their identification or ID. Those helping travelers will be permitted constrained access.
There are no plans right now for daytime checkpoints, yet police and Aviation Department security can demand to see fitting certifications for anybody in the air terminal.
