Aeroporti di Roma and Alitalia are once again at the forefront for protocols aimed at traveling in extreme safety during the pandemic. Starting today, a new experimentation will allow passengers traveling to New York on Alitalia’s Covid Tested flights to present, before boarding, a digital certificate proving negativity to the Covid-19 rapid antigen test, carried out at the airport, through the AOKpass app (developed in collaboration with the ICC - International Chamber of Commerce), thus saving additional time during travel procedures.
Operation is easy: once the AOKpass app has been downloaded on the mobile device and after carrying out the test at Rome Fiumicino airport, travelers will receive the result with a QR code that authenticates and securely stores the negative result on the smartphone. Upon boarding the flight to New York, passengers will then be able to use their digital health credentials by having the airport staff scan the QR code directly.
